Description

Kwasny Racing Gloss 1K Clear Coat – 500 ml Spray (288917) is an affordable transparent high-gloss clear coat for sealing and protecting the surface. An ideal choice for decorative and hobby projects where extreme resistance like a 2K clear coat with hardener is not required.

Suitable use

  • Suitable for topcoating all our PMcolours paints, such as Chameleon, Candy, Pearl, Glitter and others.
  • As a clear coat for a two-coat system, base coat + clear coat.
  • For topcoating objects painted with spray paints, e.g. automotive spray paints, to even out the gloss and protect the surface.

Main advantages

  • ✅ 1K solution without hardener – the main advantage is reusability. The spray can be used again later, without the limited pot life after activation known from 2K sprays.

Suitable surfaces

  • Metal, wood, stone, glass, ceramics, clay and paper
  • Most plastics – we always recommend testing compatibility first on a small, inconspicuous area

Nozzle

Tip: If you need maximum resistance, for example for higher mechanical stress, chemical exposure or demanding long-term outdoor use, choose a 2K clear coat with hardener instead.

How to use the paint

Clear coat application procedure

  1. Make sure the surface is dry, free from dust and grease.
  2. Use personal protective equipment, such as gloves and safety glasses. For details, see the safety data sheet (SDS) below.
  3. Shake the can thoroughly for 2 minutes, starting from the moment you can hear the mixing balls moving inside.
  4. Spray from a distance of 15–25 cm and keep the can as vertical as possible.
  5. Apply 2 cross coats, first horizontally and then vertically. The approximate film thickness with 2 cross coats is approx. 30–40 μm.
  6. Allow approx. 3–5 minutes flash-off time between coats.
  7. After use, turn the can upside down and spray for 3–5 seconds to clean the valve.

Application conditions

  • Recommended working temperature: 18–25 °C
  • The surface must be dry, free from dust and grease

Drying time, approximate

  • Dust-dry: approx. 5–10 min
  • Touch-dry / ready for handling: approx. 30–40 min
  • Fully cured: approx. 24 hours

Recoating

  • Can be recoated with itself at any time, so an additional coat can be applied later if needed.
