Description

100 ml of undiluted transparent basecoat with gold holographic glitter flakes – creating a vivid rainbow effect in sunlight and under strong direct light. This is a solvent-based 1K Basecoat (BCB). The total quantity ordered is always supplied in a single container.

Holographic glitter is applied as a three-step paint system: first a coloured basecoat – we recommend a black basecoat, as shown in the product photos and videos – followed by the holographic glitter layer and finally a clear topcoat to seal and protect the surface while enhancing the depth and shine.

How to use the paint

Holographic glitter for spray gun is applied as a three-step paint system over a properly prepared surface: black BC basecoat, holographic glitter effect layer and a final 2K clear coat. The effect is strongest over a dark basecoat and becomes more vivid after applying a high-quality gloss clear coat.

Before application, mix the holographic glitter basecoat in a 1:1 ratio with acrylic thinner.

1. Surface preparation

Sand, clean and thoroughly degrease the surface. Remove corrosion where necessary and repair any scratches, sanding marks or other imperfections before painting.

2. Black basecoat

Apply 2–3 thin coats to create a uniform matte black surface without sand-through spots. Allow the basecoat to flash off and become dry to the touch before applying the glitter layer.

3. Holographic glitter effect

Apply 2–3 very thin coats using smooth, overlapping passes. Distribute the glitter evenly across the entire surface and allow approx. 10 minutes flash-off time between coats.

4. Clear coat

After the final glitter layer has flashed off for approx. 40 minutes, apply a high-quality 2K clear coat according to the product TDS. A gloss clear coat provides maximum depth, brilliance and long-term protection.

Choose a clear coat

  • Mixing ratio: 1:1 with acrylic thinner
  • Spray gun: HVLP spray gun with a nozzle size of at least 1.3 mm
  • Glitter coats: usually 2–3 very thin coats
  • Flash-off: approx. 10 minutes between coats and approx. 40 minutes after the final coat
  • Final protection: always finish with a high-quality 2K clear coat

Tip: Always make a test spray on a sample panel before painting the final part. Check the result both in shade and under strong direct light, as the holographic rainbow reflections become most visible in direct illumination.
