Description

Flip-Flop AURORA – paint with a blue-purple Flip-Flop effect

Effect: a blue tone with a subtle green hint from the front, smoothly shifting into purple when the viewing angle and light change.

This paint is supplied as a solvent-based 1K basecoat paint (BC / BCB) for spray gun application. It is sold in 100 ml units, but we always pack the ordered volume into one tin. For larger orders, such as several litres, we use larger containers.

Flip-Flop paint is a three-step paint system. It requires a matte black basecoat, followed by the Flip-Flop effect layer and finally a clear coat to enhance the depth of the effect, protect the surface and define the final finish.

Why choose Flip-Flop AURORA?

The Flip-Flop effect changes colour depending on the viewing angle and light source. The result is a vivid, distinctive surface that looks impressive on small details as well as larger painted areas.

How to use the paint

Flip-Flop paint for spray gun is supplied as an undiluted solvent-based 1K basecoat paint. Before application, it should be mixed in a 1:1 ratio with acrylic thinner. The paint is applied as a simple 3-step paint system: black basecoat, Flip-Flop effect layer and final clear coat. The final appearance depends on the clear coat you choose – gloss, satin or matt are all possible, depending on your preference.

Before painting: Surface preparation

Sand, clean and degrease the surface thoroughly before applying the paint system.

How to prepare the surface

1. Black basecoat

Apply 2–3 thin coats of black basecoat for maximum colour shift, contrast and depth.

2. Flip-Flop effect layer

Mix the paint 1:1 with acrylic thinner and apply 2–3 very thin coats using an HVLP spray gun with a 1.3–1.4 mm nozzle.

Pigment size: approx. 15–78 microns

3. Clear coat

Protects the effect, adds depth and defines the final finish according to your preference.
