ColorMatic High Gloss 2K Clear Coat – 500 ml Spray (190469)

Fast-drying 2K acrylic clear coat with a high-gloss finish in a practical ColorMatic spray can by Motip. The clear coat and hardener are stored in separate chambers; after 2K activation, both components are mixed and the spray is ready to use. Ideal for DIY and professional repairs, such as bicycle frames, helmets, scooters, motorcycle parts, wheels and similar projects.

Activation and application

• 2K activation: press the pin in the bottom of the can according to the pictogram, then shake thoroughly for 2–3 minutes.
• Coats: apply 2–3 full coats with approx. 2 minutes flash-off time between coats.
• Coverage / film thickness: approx. 0.8–1 m² per 500 ml can; final film thickness approx. 50 µm with 2–3 coats.
• Drying at 20–25 °C: dust-dry after approx. 5 minutes, touch-dry after approx. 5 hours, fully dry after approx. 24 hours.
• Heat resistance: up to approx. 120 °C.
• Pot life: after activation, use ideally within 24 hours. Do not store the activated can for later use.

Compatibility and use

• Suitable as a top 2K clear coat for standard 1K/BC basecoats, including metallic, pearl, solid colours and our special-effect paints.
• The surface must be dry, clean, degreased and sanded according to the coating system.
• After full curing, the clear coat can be machine polished.

Practical tips

• Spray from a distance of 15–20 cm using crosswise passes, with a steady speed and approx. 60–70% overlap.
• Allow the basecoat to flash off properly to help prevent mapping, bubbles or other surface defects.
• For larger projects, consider multiple cans or 2K clear coats for spray gun application in the Clear Coats section.

Safety

2K aerosol contains isocyanates and solvents. Work in a well-ventilated area and use suitable PPE, such as an A2/P2 respirator, gloves and safety glasses. Always follow the instructions on the packaging and the SDS.
